Job Summary
Job Summary Serves as an expert resource on regulatory, compliance, and correctional healthcare standards, as well as customer contracts and expectations for compliance at CFG Health Systems contracted correctional facilities. Designs, implements, and facilitates a systematic approach to ensure awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements, including completion of audits and monitoring systems. Works with the Health Services Administrator to revise site-specific policies and procedures to maintain compliance with standards, regulations, and contracts.
Acts as a liaison to external audit consultants and provides education to health staff to promote compliance.
- Provides education and serves as a resource to management, medical staff, and patient care services.
- Stays current with regulatory agency updates and ensures compliance.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintains professionalism, diplomacy, and trustworthiness.
- Develops and maintains facility-specific policies and procedures.
- Coordinates corrective action plans, audit tools, and monitoring activities.
- Ensures services align with contractual and accreditation requirements.
- Develops and implements policies reflecting applicable standards.
- Assists site management with CQI activities, action plans, and compliance monitoring.
- Ensures completion and reporting of CQI activities and patient safety issues.
- Provides reports highlighting areas of potential risk.
- Serves as a resource for contract compliance, accreditation, and audits.
- Attends required CFG staff meetings.
- Provides on-site coverage in the absence of the HSA/DON as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Master's in healthcare administration or nursing specialties preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience. Must have a valid RN license in the state of NJ.
- Strong credibility, independence, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of correctional healthcare compliance, regulatory requirements (NCCHC, ACA, NJ Administrative Code 10-A, PBNDS).
- Experience in training and development.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively at various professional levels and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift light materials.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
