Overview
A skilled registered nurse is needed for a contract position supporting Emergency Department holds at a medical center in Bridgeton, NJ. This role serves as a float nurse with a primary focus on Step Down and Acute Care units, requiring prior Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience as a must. Experience with in the Emergency Department is beneficial; however, inpatient care proficiency is essential.
Schedule& Details
- Contract length: 8 weeks, with potential for extension
- Shifts:
Four 12-hour shifts per week (48 hours total) - Weekend frequency:
Every other weekend - Holiday coverage:
One holiday per contract, if needed - Return to work:
No more than 3 days allowed between shifts
- Current nursing license in New Jersey or a compact state
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) from AHA
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
- Virtual Welcome meeting and Health Stream modules completed prior to Monday start
- In-person classes typically scheduled Tuesday through Thursday across multiple locations; attendance required including POCT class
- Unit-based orientation coordinated by the nursing manager
- Badge t during orientation is mandatory for facility access and timekeeping
- Provide nursing care to Step Down and Acute Care patients
- Manage and monitor patient conditions during holds in the Emergency Department
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner electronic medical records
