• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair; report problems to the supervisor.
• Clean all assigned areas, including patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices, and equipment, following established procedures.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to assure an adequate supply.
• Make beds following established cleaning procedures in all patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Maintain assigned equipment in clean, working condition, reporting problems and suggestions to the supervisor.
• Move equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets, etc., as assigned.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.

• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, reaching and bending and operating floor equipment such as vacuum cleaners, autoscrubbers, buffers, etc.
• Meet Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard.
• Capable of wearing appropriate PPE for an extended period of time.

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and different types of cleaning chemicals.

• Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
• Possession of the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies, and equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written work assignments.
