Essential Duties & Responsibilities

General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement. It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Implement and review environmental procedures and programs to minimize deficiencies and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, licenses, codes, permits, rules and procedures/policies.
  • Perform field activities, such as oversight of contractors, inspections, sample collection, incident response, training and record keeping with minimal supervision. Assist with escorting agency personnel on-site for compliance inspections.
  • Provide technical support during planned construction activities, including oversight of installation of flagging, best management practices (BMPs), etc.
  • Schedule, coordinate, conduct and complete inspections and maintenance of E&S and BMPs, fresh water impoundment engines, air compressor stations, well pads and other equipment according to the issued permits.
  • Evaluate reclaimed areas and coordinate removal of E&S and BMPs.
  • Assist with environmental incident response, investigations and remediation activities, including environmental sampling and monitoring.
  • Assist with collecting, preparing and maintaining monthly and annual reports.
  • Maintain inventory of environmental supplies including spill response supplies, at assigned locations and re-stock/re-supply as needed.
  • Attend relevant operational meetings pertaining to the area of responsibility and provide updates on relevant environmental issues.
  • Provide field guidance and training to the Environmental Field Technicians I.
  • Occasionally participate on work groups and may act as a coordinator or technical consultant on small to medium projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of Environmental or Oil & Gas industry experience focusing on environmental inspections, sample collection and construction oversight.
CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Possess broad knowledge of environmental theories, principles, techniques and related work disciplines and applies it along with related work experience to successfully complete job assignments.
  • Good awareness and working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations, including CWA Section 404 and 401, USACOE, USFWS, SHPO, SPCC, NPDES.
  • Intermediate knowledge of operation and calibration of all field instruments, including flow meters and water sampling techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc., and use/operation of standard office equipment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with staff, management, contractors and operations, using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
  • Self-motivated and assertive that is comfortable in open discussion with personality ranges from field hand to construction and design groups.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, set priorities, monitor progress towards goals and track details, data, information, activities, etc.
  • Good time management, project management and organizational skills to meet set deadlines.
SAFETY SENSITIVE RELATED
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.
