Summary of PositionAs a construction technician
, you will be trained to perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt). Other inspection services could include environmental compliance and E&S inspections. You will be expected to communicate with project managers, client representatives, contractor representatives, and others as applicable parties. Documentation regarding the project site, requirements, testing, observation, results, and inspections will be submitted daily.
You will also transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to our office laboratory for further analysis. This position will be full-time and may include occasional travel.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ability to read construction plans.
- Perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and others) in accordance with training and specified procedures.
- Perform site inspections for environmental compliance.
- Document and submit written daily reports.
- Provide clear documentation of daily construction project activities.
- Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
- Maintain company-provided equipment.
- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
- Perform planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to safely operate a vehicle.
- Performing basic computer functions.
- Ability to work in all types of outdoor environments.
- Work long hours as needed.
