Job Overview

Team Member at Tractor Supply Company responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives and performing assigned tasks while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: greet the customer, uncover customer’s needs & wants, recommend product solutions, ask to add value & appreciate the customer.
• Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures.
• Perform recovery of merchandise, mandatory freight process, complete plan‑o‑gram procedures (merchandising, sets, resets).
• Assemble merchandise, perform janitorial duties, execute price changes/markdowns.
• Operate forklift (unless under 18). Operate cardboard baler (unless under 18). Assist customers with loading purchases.
• Ensure customer enjoys Legendary shopping experience.
• Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks; ensure safety and well‑being of birds (if applicable).
• Complete all documentation associated with job duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• No experience required; retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, welding knowledge strongly preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required; ability to read, write, and count accurately essential.

• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, welding knowledge.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately.

• Work indoors with moderate noise; floors are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt).
• Shift lengths generally 4–8+ hours. Indoor temperature and lighting adequate.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment; adhere to company safety training and guidelines.

• Move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds; move up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate equipment.
• Occasional lift or reach overhead; frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders.
• Move throughout the store entire shift; access all areas of store.
• Operate and use equipment such as computers, cash registers, forklifts, balers; forklift/baler not required if under 18.
• Handle and be in contact with birds/poultry if applicable.
• Complete required training; obtain propane dispensing certification if required (not for under 18).
