Position Overview
  • Advanced Practice Provider (PA or APRN) to provide comprehensive continuity of care for the endocrine Head & Neck surgical patient population.
  • Focused on thyroid and parathyroid disease management across the full continuum of care.
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Manage preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative, and long‑term surveillance care for thyroid and parathyroid patients.
  • Provide independent ambulatory clinic care with an established patient panel.
  • First assist in the operating room.
  • Perform and/or support procedures including RFNA (Radio frequency Needle Ablation) as applicable.
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, endocrinologists, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Schedule
  • 4 10‑hour shifts per week
    • 2 days in the Operating Room
    • 2 days in independent ambulatory clinic

Qualifications
  • RFNA experience or First Assist experience required.
  • Ambulatory or Acute Care experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage an independent clinic panel.
  • Must obtain and maintain credentialing at:
    • Bridgeport Hospital
    • Greenwich Hospital
    • Yale New Haven Hospital

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care
    The Physician Assistant (PA) or the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. The NP/PA, whether the practice setting is the inpatient, ambulatory, or outpatient settings, provides optimal patient care, from diagnostic to prognostic matters. This individual works in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols and clinical pathways and may provide autonomous team‑based care.
    Obtains medical histories, performs physical examinations, reviews/orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, formulates and manages patient treatment plans.
