Summer Student Nurse Intern Program 2026

If you are a student nurse seeking additional clinical experience, start your nursing career with the Bridgeport Hospital Summer Student Nurse Internship (SNI) program. This is a paid mentorship offering student nurses a unique opportunity to work side by side with an experienced nurse and the clinical team to expand their clinical knowledge. The SNI will provide direct patient care, develop interdisciplinary communication and collaboration skills, reinforce basic nursing skills, and increase clinical competency in practice under the direct supervision of a highly skilled, experienced Registered Nurse.

* Regular meetings with educators, nurse managers, and team members

* Various in-services and educational programs offered at Bridgeport Hospital

* Payrate-$17.00/hr

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
- To be considered for a Student Nurse internship, applicants must:

* Must be currently enrolled in a accredited school of nursing-entering the final year of the program

* Must have successfully completed at least one clinical rotation and must have completed fundamentals of nursing prior to the program start

* Must have BLS Certification

* Must be available to commit to a minimum of 24 hours/week

* The program will begin on May 26th and end on July 24th-It is mandatory to attend the entire Intern Orientation Program (first three days).
