Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) - GI Endoscopy (Per Diem) at Hartford Health Care.

Location:

St. Vincent's Medical Center (10427).

• Work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team in a patient-centered GI Endoscopy unit.
• Provide nursing care under the direction of the Nurse Manager, applying evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Develop and implement a plan of care to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family using the nursing process.
• Perform GI Endoscopy procedures and related care, including Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD), Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM), ERCP, EUS, motility studies, ablation, and small bowel enteroscopy as part of the unit responsibilities.
• Provide care for both inpatient and outpatient populations in pre-operative and post-operative settings.
• Demonstrate leadership and project involvement as needed by department requirements.

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN required).
• 1-2 years of Stepdown/ICU experience preferred.
• Highly motivated, energetic, organized, with ability to multitask.
• Leadership skills and willingness to take on department projects as needed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
