Registered Nurse (RN) / Cardiac Laboratory Adult (Per Diem)
Location:
St. Vincent’s Medical Center (10427)
Shift: Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑5:30 pm, rotating call for weekends and holidays (per diem)
Ideal candidate will have a cardiac background with extensive orientation and telemetry knowledge. RNs with a Cath Lab background who can work a per diem schedule are required.

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities- Implements and monitors patient care plans; monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients and to identify physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age‑related needs in order to provide individualized care.
- Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel consistent with their level of education and expertise to meet patients’ needs and maximize staff performance.
- Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds; provides input to meet desired outcomes for the appropriate patient population.
- Reflects ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice (2015), ANA Code of Ethics (2015) and ANA Social Policy Statement (2015).
- Develops, implements and revises individualized plans of care.
- Participates in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current Connecticut RN license.
- BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
- Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience.
- Must commit to passing the orientation process full‑time until sign off.
St. Vincent’s Medical Center is a Level 2 Trauma Center, twice‑designated Magnet hospital, and part of Hartford Health Care. The 473‑bed teaching hospital is located in Bridgeport, Connecticut and offers a comprehensive range of services.
