Because of Young Life’s exclusive Christian purposes of evangelism and discipleship as set forth in its Articles of Incorporation and in these Bylaws, and to reflect what has always been and will continue to be the position of Young Life, specifically the Christian belief that each and every employee and volunteer of the corporation should minister as a servant of God with the primary responsibility of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and, as such, is an integral part of the Christian mission and ministry of the corporation, Young Life shall only employ individuals or enlist volunteer leaders who: (a) profess a belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord;

and (b) subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith. Therefore, employees and volunteers of Young Life, during working and nonworking hours, shall: (i) be ready, willing and able to fulfill such ministry functions as may be required by the organization; (ii) refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life, and (iii) abide by all policies and practices of Young Life including, without limitation, those related to religious belief or ministry activities.

We seek people to serve on staff who have a deep love for Christ and for kids. These are people who are deeply rooted in Jesus and not their performance. They are willing to leave their comfort zones to reach out to ALL kinds of adolescents. Staff Associates must possess leadership ability and be likable. They need an entrepreneurial spirit to be innovative in reaching kids.

Being a self-starter and teachable are key elements to success as well.

This is a 3-year commitment to be trained to become an Area Director or for another fitting role within Young Life. After 2 years in the role, we’ll conduct an evaluation to ensure that a third year fits with the progress we’ve seen from you and your potential toward a future role with Young Life.

The job involves working nights and weekends and will require serving on a camp assignment at one of our YL properties for 3-4 weeks in the summer. We strive to ensure our staff put in place healthy boundaries for themselves and work an appropriate amount of hours but this job requires an unconventional working schedule.

Being on Young Life staff means you take on the mindset of a missionary. Missionaries are often sent to a new location, establish a new home, and build roots within a community to build relationships and earn the right to share the Gospel. Therefore, the location where you’ll be placed on staff for your role as a Staff Associate is prayerfully determined by the Region.

You may be placed in any of our open positions within the Georgia Region.

Through both formal training and direct field ministry experience, learn how to effectively carry out and manage Young Life ministry.

• Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God’s Word.
• Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines, in the context of active participation in a church community.
• Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
• Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
