St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200 associates. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford Health Care network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.
Job SummaryManages daily operations of building management functions for assigned facilities and leased spaces.
- Negotiates bids/contracts for building management services and manages vendor performance.
- Develops operational and capital budgets for assigned properties and ensures budgetary compliance.
- Resolves problems concerning property maintenance and security.
- Coordinates moves, expansions and renovations involving assigned properties to ensure smooth transitions and to minimize inconvenience to occupants and visitors.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Manages staffing, performance evaluation and training activities, and assists with capacity planning for staff and contract labor.
- Ensures that facilities are maintained, secured, renovated, and constructed according to departmental/organizational policies, procedures, plans and initiatives.
- Assists with the development of and compliance with the departmental budgets, including capital, operating and construction budgets.
- Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance of applicable statutory, regulatory and administrative requirements.
- Licensed Driver's License credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles required
- 3-5 years of facilities maintenance required
- Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Fleet Management preferred.
