Medical Assistant II at the HOPE Center supports compassionate and confidential care for Ryan White clients. Working under provider supervision, this role handles vital signs, patient prep, medication and vaccine administration, specimen collection, and medical record documentation. The role also supports Ryan White clients with treatment and appointment adherence and contributes to a multidisciplinary care team to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Records patients' medical history, vital statistics and information such as test results in medical records.
- Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Interviews patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments and disposes of contaminated supplies.
- Prepares and administers medications as directed by a physician.
- Shows patients to examination rooms and prepares them for the physician.
- Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
- Collects laboratory specimens, logs the specimens, and prepares them for testing.
- Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas.
- Performs additional professional duties as assigned.
Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year experience in a related field.

High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in medical assisting; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower-level Medical Assistant I (HCT
100) or position equivalent.
- Previous experience in a public health setting.
- Previous experience working with Ryan White clients.
