Cohen and Wolf, P.C., a collaborative, multi-disciplinary law firm with three offices in Connecticut, is hiring an experienced Director of Finance to manage all aspects of the Firm’s finance and accounting operations, as well as oversee the Firm’s facilities and IT functions.
This is a full-time, onsite position located in the Firm's Bridgeport, CT office.
We are seeking detail-oriented candidates who possess strong communication and organizational skills. Candidates should be able to work well independently and as part of a team, manage multiple assignments, and learn on the job.
Experience working in a multi-office law firm setting and with Surepoint is preferred.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Establish financial controls and guidelines; oversee accounting systems and personnel;
- Prepare annual budget(s) and monitor/provide monthly financial performance;
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial reporting; manage year-end financial process, including forecasts of revenue, administration of distribution of income, and payment of firm expenses;
- Prepare and submit all governmental filings, including federal and state tax returns, personal property tax returns, sales and use tax returns, etc.; coordinate with outside accountant as necessary; prepare applicable banking compliance reports;
- Review, advise, and adopt administrative policies and procedures as needed;
- Maintain corporate records;
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with financial, accounting, facilities, and IT vendors to ensure seamless operations and optimal service; and
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Firm.
