Overview

Three Little Bears Day Care, LLC is a new daycare that opened end of summer. We are excited to welcome children from our community to a loving, nurturing and educational environment. Head Teacher will work closely with Center Owner/Director.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Supervise children at all times for their safety and the safety of others.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Use Center app (will train) to communicate with parents and share child’s work.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
  • Hold team meetings for planning and reflection.
  • Stock the classroom with supplies as needed.
  • Keep toys and mats appropriately sanitized, according to CDC and state licensing regulations.
  • Attend required meetings, as scheduled.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as Open House and Parents’ Evening/Weekend Events.
  • Attend professional development as required.
Requirements
  • A current center-based Child Development Associate Credential issued from the Council for Professional Recognition OR
  • Twelve (12) credits in early childhood education or child development from a regionally accredited higher education institution
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (will help certify if you don’t have).
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Enjoy working with children.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Team player.
