Neurohospitalist/ Stroke Neurologist – Fairfield County, CT at Hartford Health Care.

Location:

2660 Main St Bridgeport (10438). The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford Health Care has opportunities for BC/BE Neurologists to join our team of Neurohospitalists cent’s Medical Center (SVMC) in Bridgeport, CT, a 473-bed tertiary, academic center. SVMC is a Joint-Commission certified Primary Stroke Center and is developing advanced Stroke Care including Endovascular Thrombectomy and treatment of complex hemorrhagic stroke.

Location details and an overview of Hartford Health Care’s Ayer Neuroscience Institute and the surrounding system are provided below.

• Inpatient coverage including a share of evening call coverage.
• Limited outpatient coverage in the Stroke follow-up clinic.
• Stroke clinic is part of a transitional care model with support from a stroke nurse navigator and APPs.
• Provide hands-on clinical supervision and teaching for residents, students, fellows, and advance practice providers if desired.
• Make treatment decisions for acute stroke care, including thrombolytics and Endovascular Thrombectomy.
• Actively participate in neurology didactic sessions, attend Grand Rounds and other teaching lectures, including the monthly Neurohospitalist Lecture Series.
• Potential involvement in clinical research, STROKENET and industry-sponsored trials, quality improvement, patient experience initiatives, and interviews/lectures as agreed with the faculty and Neurology Chair.
• Faculty appointment with the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University available.
