Position: Physician / Psychiatry / Connecticut / Permanent / Medical Director- Psychiatry
St. Vincents Medical center is seeking a Medical Director for our division of Psychiatry at our Westport campus. This position will consist of approximately three weeks of clinical time per month with protected administrative time. Board certified in Psychiatry required. This position offers generous compensation, along with bonus incentives and ample PTO. The Director of Psychiatry will work with the Chair of the department to monitor and improve quality.

Monitor peer review process and ensure that core measures are being followed. Supervision of inpatient and outpatient psychiatrists. Review of capacity for medication. Oversight of all clinical activities at the Westport campus in conjunction with other disciplines (ie. Nursing, case management). Direct Supervision and coordination of moonlighting staff and their schedules. Direct patient care for gaps in coverage. Physician recruitment, interviewing, and committee work.

Our 76-bed hospital has adult, geriatric, women's addiction, and child/adolescent services, and is affiliated with St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. We are the primary teaching hospital for the Frank Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University and are affiliated with the University of Connecticut.

In addition to the inpatient services in Westport, the St. Vincent's Behavioral Health service line includes a 16-bed psychiatric unit at the Medical Center in Bridgeport. The combined service offers 92 behavioral health inpatient beds for treating children, adolescent, and adults with mental health and substance abuse issues. This makes the inpatient behavioral health service line of St. Vincent's one of the largest in Connecticut, serving approximately 2,350 individuals annually.
