We are currently looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and organized individual to join us as a part-time Accounting Associate. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a consistent part-time role focused on clerical accounting and office support.
The Accounting Associate is responsible for all daily transactions and record-keeping within the Company's established accounting software. This includes, but is not limited to, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, which are transacted in multiple currencies. This role also works on a variety of accounting and organizational projects and teams as needed.
Responsibilities:- Match and post AP invoices for inventory and non-inventory vendors
- Match and post various forms of payment to AR (checks, ACH, credit cards). Record cash inflows on the cash tracker.
- Occasional communications with customers
- Research and resolve pricing discrepancies with product management team, purchasing manager and vendors
- Obtain approval from internal departments to process and post invoices from marketing vendors
- Contact vendors for invoices and statements
- Post payments from check run processed by the Accounting Specialist, and send remittance to vendors
- gather, upload and organize receipts in company drives
- 1-5 years of Experience: You have a solid foundation in accounting or bookkeeping
- Technical Fluency: You are skilled and proficient with modern accounting software and digital productivity tools.
- Exceptional Attention to Detail: A commitment to accuracy and a proven ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong Communication Skills: A friendly and professional manner when speaking with customers or vendors regarding invoices.
- Professional Ethics: You operate with total integrity and understand the importance of both confidentiality and transparency in financial reporting.
- Reliability: You are consistent, follow established procedures, and meet daily deadlines.
- Schedule: 15 hours per week. We are happy to discuss a consistent weekly schedule that works for you.
- Location: On-site, in our Bridgeport, CT office.
- Educational Background: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is highly preferred.
