Overview

A growing industrial solutions থেকেই (leverage) provider is seeking a Field Driver Technician to support customers with the safe delivery and maintenance of hazardous products. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role that combines delivery operations, technical tank knowledge, equipment maintenance, and relationship management. Safety, professionalism, and service quality are central to this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely load, prepare, and operate delivery vehicles transporting hazardous products
  • Plan and manage efficient delivery routes, considering tank sizes, customer requirements, and delivery priorities
  • Deliver hazardous products into tanks and containers at customer sites safely
  • Conduct dynamic risk assessments at delivery locations and stop work if conditions少女 are unsafe
  • Perform pre‑delivery and post‑delivery vehicle and equipment checks
  • Complete all delivery documentation and obtain customer sign‑off
  • Optimise delivery schedules and tank utilisation, coordinating rescheduling with customers and management as required
  • Provide professional, knowledgeable, and customer‑focused service at all times
  • Undertake routine maintenance on hazardous product tanks, identify faults, and arrange remedial works
  • Conduct annual inspections on tanks, ensuring compliance and reporting findings clearly
  • Explain safe tank operation to customers and highlight any breaches of codes of practice
  • Maintain van spares stock and coordinate with internal teams to resolve customer issues
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and ensure it is maintained
  • Identify opportunities for additional sales, including increased volumes, equipment, or training
  • Build strong, long‑term customer relationships through reliable service and technical credibility
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record
  • Background in service, maintenance, engineering, or mechanical environments is preferred
  • Strong safety mindset with the ability to carry out dynamic risk assessments
  • Confident and professional communicator with strong customer‑facing skills
  • Physically capable of handling tanks and related equipment
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail for paperwork and compliance documentation
  • Calm and resourceful when handling unexpected site or delivery challenges
  • Comfortable using GPS, mobile devices, and digital delivery systems
  • Able to work independently in a lone‑working environment
Typical Work Environment
  • Long periods of driving
  • Hands‑on, physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions
  • Visits to a wide variety of customer sites, each with different rules and requirements
