37 hours per week. Fixed Term up to 12 months. Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding social work role? Have you ever thought about working within a prison environment? If so, then this role may be for you. We are looking for a qualified social worker on a full-time basis, fixed term for 12 months.
Prisons are challenging yet rewarding for healthcare professionals. This is an opportunity to develop your skills and learn something new every day. The role is based at HMP Parc, a Category B men's prison holding both sentenced and remanded prisoners with an operational capacity of around 2000. The prison is located at Junction 36 of the M4, 5 minutes from Bridgend centre and 20 minutes from Cardiff and Swansea.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan and deliver social care needs to clients with a wide range of physical and mental health needs.
- Join a Social Care team that includes Social Workers, an Occupational Therapist and care staff.
- Be involved in the assessment and review of those in receipt of care and support, and attend multi-agency meetings.
- Demonstrate multi-professional working, effective communication, team working skills and maintain excellent record keeping.
- Qualified social worker. Full-time, permanent (fixed term 12 months).
- G4S/HMPPS vetting due to the role’s environment.
- Ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement.
- Protection of children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
- Enhanced DBS check with Adults Barred List is a requirement.
- Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post, providing a framework for working hours between home and the office.
- A valid driving licence is a requirement.
- Visits to the prison and a chance to chat with the current post-holder can be arranged.
