Overview
37 hours per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enforcement Officer within the Development Control/Management Section of the Local Planning Authority.
We are looking for a highly motivated person with experience of the development management and/or planning enforcement processes and practices in Wales. You will be an enthusiastic and proactive individual with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
Responsibilities- Assist the Local Planning Authority's two Senior Enforcement Officers in processing a large and varied caseload of enforcement complaints and other contraventions of planning control in a timely and professional manner, in line with statutory timelines.
- Pro-actively ensure compliance with conditions attached to planning permissions.
- Process a small caseload of enforcement complaints related to matters such as advertisements, etc.
- Help prepare appeal statements where required.
- Contribute to the service’s objective of supporting the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of Bridgend County Borough and maintaining the Authority’s reputation for planning excellence.
- Proactively deal with breaches of planning control and unauthorised development across the Borough.
- Work from the Civic Offices, Bridgend, with hybrid/agile working arrangements as determined by policy.
- Support colleagues and engage with customers, including Welsh language requirements where applicable.
- Experience of development management and/or planning enforcement processes and practices in Wales.
- Ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh (requirement for this post).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
- The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post, providing a framework for how working hours are undertaken between home and the office.
