SEN Teaching Assistant – Caerphilly

We are thrilled to be hiring qualified Special Education (SEN) Teaching Assistants to work as supply in schools in Caerphilly. The ideal candidate needs to be hardworking and committed to their role. Teaching Assistants may be required to work with children one‑to‑one or support them with additional needs, providing support in various ways.
Responsibilities and CoverageThe vacancies cover planned and unplanned absences such as sickness, maternity, paternity and courses. Teachers may be called to work the same day and should be prepared for early morning calls.
Safeguarding and ConductAll staff, temporary and candidates must be aware of VES’ Safeguarding Policy and follow all procedures to protect children and vulnerable adults. VES is committed to protecting children and vulnerable adults through a careful recruitment and selection process, a whistle‑blowing policy and guidance on appropriate behaviour. Any candidate found to have a history of unacceptable conduct or practice will not be placed.
QualificationsVES are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants in Caerphilly with one of the following qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning
- CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 in CCLD
- Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social
- BA Hons Childhood Degree
- Significant experience working in ALN environments
All candidates who register with VES MUST have the following:
- An enhanced DBS check subscribed to the Update Service, or willing to undergo one with VES. All DBS checks must be in the correct category and state that you are working with the Child Workforce.
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Minimum of two referees covering the last 24 months of employment.
- Completion of our online Safeguarding course.
- One of the above qualifications.
