Radyr Comprehensive School’s Governing Body is looking to appoint an outstanding, forward-thinking, and inspirational Headteacher with strategic vision and moral purpose to lead our school into the next stage of its development.

We are a fully inclusive, pupil-centred, 11-18 school with a strong track record of educational achievement, a committed staff, and a reputation for high expectations, care, and ambition for every learner.

We are a caring and inclusive school that promotes the highest standards of respect, commitment and success. We are proud of our school, and our vision reflects our determination to provide the very best for all learners:

  • High quality, inspirational and innovative teaching and learning
  • Inspiration and accountable leadership at all levels
  • Consistently high academic standards and expectations for every individual
  • Creative, exciting and memorable experiences inside and outside the classroom
  • A safe, secure and caring environment in which to work and learn
Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to continue our journey towards excellence in all areas of the curriculum and with pupils across all ability levels. A strong commitment to develop our post-16 provision, in‑line with the Local Authority’s expectations for our school, is essential.

We seek an exceptional leader to be both school‑centred and outward‑looking. You will work closely with our dedicated Senior Leadership Team, talented staff and engaged Governing Body to widen opportunities for learners and lead the continued development of a rich, inclusive and innovative curriculum. You will also further develop links with our parents, local community and cluster primary schools, and enhance our links with employers and other external bodies across Cardiff city and beyond.

You will be an inspirational person with professional commitment and vision to build on our strengths, recognise our weaknesses and have the drive to take our school forward into a successful future.
