Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patients' needs, identifying patient needs, and determining priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans based on ongoing assessments.

• Initiate assessments based on patient problems or needs and physicians' medical diagnosis.

• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care.

• Document care based on standards of care and clinical priorities.

• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards.

• Provide patient-centric care in line with the professional nursing practice model.

• Other duties as assigned.
Schedule
This position is scheduled from 6:45 PM to 7:30 AM for three 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, with one winter and one summer holiday off during the contract. There is no on-call requirement, but floating to another like unit (e.g., Med Surg, Telemetry, or ED inpatient holding area) may be necessary.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry experience required.

• BLS Certification from AHA required.

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license required.

• NIHSS and Telemetry Certification preferred.
