Role OverviewThe Health Center provides 24‑hour nursing services and comprehensive care management, including pediatric care, psychiatric services, routine medical and dental treatment, and nutritional counseling. We are staffed with licensed practical nurses, psychiatrists, and a registered nurse, who also works in the School Nurse Office during school hours. The RN/LPN is responsible for providing nursing care for residential clients and maintaining the health and safety of residents while assuring that all health standards are maintained as mandated by law and agency regulations.
He/she is responsible for the integration of the medical/nursing component of the program with overall treatment planning.
- Providing nursing care to residential clients.
- Assisting in medical Quality Assurance and Utilization Review.
- Scheduling admission nursing, dietary assessments, and laboratory work‑ups.
- Reviewing immunization records, scheduling follow‑up appointments, and charting results.
- Coordinating admission physical assessments and dental consultations.
- Administering medications as per doctor’s orders.
- Providing or arranging health care services as necessary.
Shift may be 6:00am-2:00pm or 2:00pm-10:00pm with rotating weekends.
Minimum QualificationsThree years of experience and one year’s experience working with children/youth is preferred, but will consider college graduates with less experience. NYS Registered Nursing License is required. Can be RN/LPN.
This is a 32 hour a week temporary position with the potential to become full time with an hourly rate of $33.00-$38.00 per hour depending on licensure.
