Schedule
:
Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Compensation
: $20.00 – $21.50 per hour (based on experience)

As a Teacher Support Specialist, you ll play a pivotal role in nurturing students  growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • In cooperation with Special Education teacher, plan and implement classroom related activities.
  • In absence of Special Education Teacher, assume responsibility for the classroom.
  • Supervise students in classroom-related activities.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to implement IEP objectives.
  • Maintain appearance of the classroom.
  • Record behavioral progress in individual tracking logs on daily basis.
  • Daily communication with Special Education teacher regarding issues which impact students.
  • Active participation in supervision and Special Education component meetings.
  • Plan and/or assist with activities for school vacations and summer school recreation program.
  • Correct students’ classroom work. Review results with student and teacher.
  • Understand and implement the school behavior management program.
  • Design and implement individualized and group behavior management programs.
  • Other responsibilities as designated by Special Education Teacher or Principal
  • Implement pre-vocational/vocational activities.
  • Any work assigned shall be related to the Employee’s normal duties, except for occasional emergencies.
Requirements
  • High School degree or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to handle children in crisis situations with safety and compassion
  • Latham may be able to provide temporary individual housing based on availability
