Job Summary And Qualifications

Role

Summary:

Evaluates patients, develops a care plan to treat patients, uses procedures and techniques to change condition/function consistent with the rehabilitation diagnosis and prognosis, supervises and coordinates therapeutic care, and communicates evaluation results to patients, families, and appropriate staff. Teaches and mentors other staff and participates in the management of resources for patient care and organizational improvement. May provide services off-site within the scope of the job description as needed by the department.

you will do in this role
  • Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics.
  • Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status; participate in patient placement and in the development of the total plan of care.
  • Provide purposeful and skilled interaction care; use procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physician’s plan of care.
  • Observe and report patient’s reaction to treatment and changes in patient’s condition.
  • Communicate pertinent payor needs/requirements to physician, treatment team, patient and patient’s family in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments/handoffs.
Qualifications
  • Required

    Education:

    Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Preferred Education:

    None.
  • Required License:
    Current North Carolina license to practice Occupational Therapy.
  • Preferred License:
    None.
  • Required Experience:

    None required – new graduate eligible.
  • Preferred Experience:

    Clinical affiliations having a wide variety of acute care procedures, especially orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary and care of burns/open wounds are helpful.
