Sales Manager Bench Senior Living (Finance)
Brookdale is adding new talent and is looking for a Sales Manager Hire Ahead who will support our communities in the Maryland market. The role requires on-the-job training, learning senior living, and demonstrating increasing proficiency in sales and marketing within Brookdale. The successful candidate will travel to all four Maryland communities:
Olney, Bowie, Potomac, and Hagerstown.

- Maintain and improve occupancy levels in accordance with marketing and business plans.
- Guide prospective residents, families, and advisors through the decision‑making process, understanding needs and educating them about community services.
- Respond promptly to all inquiries (telephone, email, Internet, in‑person) and complete weekly follow‑ups, letters, and tours as defined by the marketing plan.
- Coordinate all sale activities and convert deposits to move‑ins, including visits to prospects’ homes or other locations for assessments or presentations.
- Track and record pre‑residency steps, keep management informed of prospective move‑in status, and report weekly and monthly sales performance.
- Develop and manage relationships with residents, family, and professional referral sources; conduct presentations on community services and market advantages.
- Assist with resident retention through welcome events, referral programs, and community visits.
- Partner with management to develop marketing plans, provide content recommendations, and achieve occupancy goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2–5 years of sales experience, preferably in the retirement industry, medical, or pharmaceutical sales, with a proven track record of generating and closing qualified leads.
- Valid driver’s license; frequent car travel required.
- Applies existing guidelines to make varied decisions within the department using sound judgment.
- In-depth knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including tactics and control systems.
- Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and state regulations relevant to senior living.
- Proficient with smartphones, personal computers, and related software.
- Strong time‑management, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
- Capacity to work effectively with diverse personalities and treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and fairness.
- Standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking and hearing.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional weekend, evening or night work to ensure shift coverage.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
- Requires occasional travel.
