We are seeking a dependable Dinner Cook / Bartender to support evening food and beverage service in our hotel restaurant. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a steady, manageable service pace and takes pride in consistency, cleanliness, and guest engagement. While the restaurant experiences moderate evening traffic, guest experience and service standards remain a top priority.

This position requires someone who is self-motivated and able to manage both kitchen and bar responsibilities during quieter shifts, creating opportunities to engage guests and build repeat business.

Responsibilities

Culinary Duties

  • Prepare and execute dinner menu items according to hotel standards
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness at all times
  • Manage prep, plating, and timely service during evening hours
  • Monitor inventory and minimize food waste
  • Maintain an organized and clean kitchen area
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following approved recipes and hotel policies
  • Maintain a valid TABC certification and comply with all state and local alcohol service laws
  • Verify guest age and follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • Maintain bar cleanliness, stocking, and organization
  • Engage with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere and encourage repeat visits
  • Accurately process payments and close out checks

Guest Experience & Performance Expectations

  • Take initiative during slower periods to enhance guest engagement and service quality
  • Follow all hotel, brand, and compliance standards consistently
  • Maintain professionalism, reliability, and adherence to established procedures
  • Tip income is guest-driven and performance-based; proactive service and engagement can positively impact earnings
Qualifications
  • Previous cooking and/or bartending experience preferred
  • Current TABC certification required (or ability to obtain prior to first shift)
  • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities during lower-volume shifts
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
Why This Role Works Well
  • Consistent hours without late-night bar volume
  • Opportunity for steady income with added tip potential for motivated team members
  • Ideal for someone who values structure, accountability, and guest interaction
