PositionRegional Director of Business Development oversees the provision of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Business Development Department of several facilities. The Regional Director of Business Development is responsible for achieving the desired utilization of the organization’s continuum of care through the effective application of marketing principles and methods. The role involves discussions related to regional issues including strategic planning, growth opportunities, future projects, program changes, recruitment, and retention.
It also includes oversight of strategic marketing plans, brand enhancement, management of all sales and business development activities, and maintaining proactive working relationships with regional facilities. You will communicate issues or potential problems proactively, especially with the Divisional Director of Business Development and Divisional Director of Admissions/Intake. Hours are based on departmental and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours.
This position is 100% remote.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Strategically analyze and designate target markets for staff and territory/account assignments. Ensure that team members’ expertise and styles align with prospective referral sources. Provide short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data. Regularly analyze referral development results, evaluate targets, and modify strategies as needed.
- Monitor the performance of each team member against departmental goals. Develop individual sales plans, territory management, and routing schedules. Accompany each team member on a quarterly basis (or more often as needed) to assess selling techniques, document outcomes, provide feedback, retrain, and redirect as needed.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Quarterly Strategic Plans. Update periodically to evaluate goals; prepare regional marketing department monthly operating reports; utilize reports to monitor success and develop corrective action plans. Submit accurate, comprehensive reports in a timely manner.
- Hold regularly scheduled, agenda-driven sales meetings; invite other staff as resources. Assist in making calls, probe for information, and procure commitments from prospective referral sources. Facilitate ongoing in-service education and training in Sales Excellence, messaging, account management, service recovery, customer service, computer systems, time management, and business development strategy.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of each facility’s programs (Inpatient, Residential, Outpatient), the assessment process, transportation services, admission criteria, and exclusionary criteria. Attend in-services and program development meetings to stay informed of issues and changes. Develop and coordinate hospital publicity programs. Volunteer for public presentations to support hospital goals. Become actively involved in strategically focused community and professional organizations on behalf of the facilities.
