Position Summary: Director-Human Resources-This position provides professional-level planning, reporting, analysis, and consultation to support the operational and talent acquisition goals of the organization. The Director of Operations plays a key role in developing recruitment strategies that align with current and future staffing needs of the Behavioral Health Connections. This includes managing the full lifecycle of recruitment-from posting positions and screening candidates to negotiating offers and coordinating onboarding.
The role also involves reporting on recruitment activity, analyzing performance metrics, and recommending process improvements to support strategic initiatives.
In partnership with Corporate Recruitment Leadership, this position ensures all recruiting practices comply with UHS policies and multi-state employment laws. The Director uses sound judgment, creativity, and strong verbal and written communication skills to engage diverse talent pools, promote company culture, and build a high-performing workforce. The position leverages modern sourcing tools, including social media, video platforms, and internal referrals, to attract qualified candidates while fostering an inclusive and compliant hiring process.
In addition to overseeing onboarding, orientation, and employee development programs, this role manages key HR functions such as benefits guidance, corrective action support, policy implementation, and employee relations. The Director also serves as administrator for key HR systems including Health Stream, Lawson, and ePAF. A working knowledge of wage/salary administration, workers compensation, staff development, and behavioral health program operations is essential to success.
This role requires flexibility, the ability to adjust to change, and a strong commitment to producing quality work efficiently while supporting the mission, vision, and values of UHS.
Job Duties:
- Manages the recruitment function for the Behavioral Health Connections, ensuring strategies align with current and future staffing needs. Manages the full recruitment process, including requisition review, candidate sourcing (internal and external), resume screening, and interviews conducted via phone, in person, or virtual platforms. Oversees the delivery and negotiation of job offers or rejections to candidates.
- Creates recruitment reports and metrics to track activity and initiatives. Analyzes data and recommends improvements aligned with short- and long-term organizational goals. Stays current on emerging technologies and best practices in sourcing and recruitment.
- Manages the full employee life cycle including hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Ensures all documentation is completed in line with company policies, working closely with supervisors and leadership.
- Oversees corrective action processes, providing coaching and guidance to management on employee relations, counseling, and terminations. Manages the dispute resolution process and conducts timely investigations with professional communication of outcomes.
- Provides support for HR-related inquiries, including leave of absence, compensation, and other employee concerns, collaborating with leadership for resolution.
