Wellness & Recovery Specialist
Location:
Virtual full‑time with required in‑person training. Candidates must reside in Tennessee and hold a Peer Specialist Certification.
- Identify opportunities to engage members and families in a supportive recovery network.
- Develop and implement psychiatric discharge planning education at Recovery and Resiliency sites.
- Collaborate with Stabilization Teams to advocate in discharge planning, resolve barriers, and facilitate service transitions.
- Provide staff with resources for decision making and problem solving as it relates to the peer role.
- Maintain contact with assigned members and providers to assess member response to services.
- Model effective coping techniques and self‑help strategies for members.
- Act as a recovery agent by providing and advocating for recovery‑based services to assist members in daily living.
- Facilitate peer recovery resources and community connections for members.
- Utilize the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to assist clients in creating their wellness and recovery plans.
- Empower clients and combat stigma through self‑advocacy and self‑directed recovery.
- AA/AS degree and a minimum of two years experience in health services, behavioral health, or peer support services (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Peer Specialist Certification required.
- One year experience as a Peer Support Specialist after certification or related equivalent experience.
- Proficiency working on multiple computer platforms simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the recovery process and ability to facilitate recovery using established mental health processes.
- Experience researching and locating community resources for independent living.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent typing skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of care‑coordination, case management, and motivational interviewing techniques.
- BA/BS or MBA preferred.
