Are you looking for a career helping seniors with a one on one assignment? A Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA career with Brookdale at Home is the Job for you. Most of Brookdale’s Private Duty Agency offices are located within a Brookdale Senior Living Community. Full-time;
Part-time and PRN positions available. Same day interviews available!
- Provides direct care to external Brookdale at Home clients, living outside the walls of a Brookdale Senior Housing Community, reflecting Brookdale philosophy and standards of non-skilled home care.
- Works independently without on-site supervision and support in the client personal home.
- Assists clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring) and getting to meals and activities according to the client plan of care.
- Assists with homemaker/companion tasks such as laundry, shopping, light housekeeping, and meals per the plan of care.
- Follows assignment tasks and notifies the supervisor if the client desires a deviation from assigned tasks.
- Encourages clients to do as much as possible themselves to stay active.
- Documents the delivery of quality care in the client clinical record.
- Follows infection control and safety policies and guidelines.
- Delivers care that is accurate, timely, and well-documented while maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the client.
- Responds promptly and positively to client requests for assistance.
- Maintains clear communication with the client, families, and co-workers.
- Identifies changes in client status or needs and communicates promptly to the Agency Manager.
- Participates in educational programs and maintains required training/compliance.
- Maintains means to travel to client home to arrive on time for assignment.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED is required. Proof of completing an approved Home Health Aide program is required. Six months experience in working independently with home care clients is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, And Other Special Requirements
Must possess current state certification or state-specific required training. Must have a reliable form of transportation. Must have a valid state a driver license is preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Standing, Walking, Use of hands, Reach, Climb/Balance, Stoop/Kneel/Crouch, Talk/Hear, Lift up to 50 pounds, Vision; interaction with others; occasional weekend/evening/night work; exposure to infectious diseases; potential injuries from transferring or lifting; exposure to latex and blood-borne pathogens; travel frequently.
Management/Decision Making
Makes standard and routine decisions based on detailed guidelines with independent judgment. Problems are solved with clear guidelines or by reporting to a supervisor.
Knowledge And Skills
Ability to follow written or verbal instructions; basic technical skills for repetitive tasks; ability to read and write simple English; effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues; good judgment in emergencies; seeks assistance when needed.
