Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Service Line Process Improvement is responsible for the design and implementation of process improvement projects as defined and prioritized by Clinical Operations and Process Improvement leadership. This position leads service line process improvement projects by performing on-site operational assessments and analyses, researching, and identifying/implementing best practices, facilitating groups and teams, managing projects, presenting results and recommendations, and developing measurement tools, to improve LifePoint’s operating processes toward greater efficiency and effectiveness.

This individual will work directly with Clinical Operations and Service Line leadership, Health Support Center (HSC) and facility representatives to collaborate and deliver timely and value added assessments, action plans, and results that improve operations that can be implemented at scale across the enterprise. This individual should possess excellent communication skills, proven motivational capabilities, and a demonstrated track record of delivering results, attaining goals, and the ability to synthesize data, observations and information to draw appropriate conclusions to develop solutions that improve operational efficiency.

The position will be based at the Health Support Center (HSC) in Brentwood, Tennessee.

General Responsibilities
  • Meets with Clinical Operations, Service Line and PI leadership to identify and prioritize process improvement initiatives.
  • Co-leads cross-functional process design teams to develop and implement solutions to complex operational problems.
  • Performs data mining and review of financial and clinical data to assess f or operational and financial opportunities.
  • Designs and recommends processes, systems, procedures, and operational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performs monitoring of throughput me trics and analysis of variances.
  • Assists in designing meaningful and realistic action plans for the implementation of process improvement solutions.
  • Monitors and maintains project work plans for each initiative to ensure successful implementation.
  • Actively communicates with Clinical Operations, HSC and facility stakeholders to manage the project expectations and activities.
  • Assists service line clinical experts in the establishment of operational work measurements and staffing standards.
  • Serves as a facilitator, technical advisor, and analyst on the use of process improvement (i.e., Six Sigma and Lean Management) tools and techniques and analytical techniques.
  • Mentors facility leadership and frontline teams to build internal process improvement capability.
  • Fosters a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • MBA, MHA or advanced degree in related healthcare field strongly preferred
  • 8 years professional work experience required
  • 2-4 years relevant experience required
  • Experience with in healthcare operations required
  • Lean facilitation and coaching experience required
  • Effective team building skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results and attaining goals
  • Proven experience as a project manager including success in implementation and sustainment
  • Must have extensive PC skills including spreadsheets, databases, flowcharts, and presentation applications
  • Must possess executive level interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a matrix environment
  • Must have strong analytical, written, verbal, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Willing to travel approximately 60% of the time
