Overview
The Brentwood Police Department is seeking highly motivated individuals who are eager to work in a city and department that prides itself on professionalism and community support. The Brentwood Police Department is a progressive agency that provides its police officers with the best equipment, training, and tools necessary to do the job. Applicants who are hired will be led by Field Training Officers through an entry level field training program to prepare them for a law enforcement career and the academy.
Applicants will be sent to a local Bay Area Police Academy where they will participate in a full-time 26-week program. The academy will involve written exams, learning domains, firearms, driving, and defensive tactics training, and a rigorous physical fitness program designed to push the student s mental and physical fitness levels.

Education and Experience GuidelinesAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education/Training:
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience:
- None required.
Age:
- The candidate shall be at least 20-1/2 years of age at date of application.
License or Certificate:
- Possession of and ability to maintain a valid California driver s license and satisfactory driving record.
- As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must successfully complete the certified POST Basic Academy course of instruction.
- All candidates that meet the minimum qualifications will be required to take a written exam, unless a passing Pellet B score of at least 47 is attached to the application.
- The written exam will be conducted every Wednesday beginning February 18 through March 18 at the Brentwood Community Center. You must first apply and be invited to participate in the written examination process. Kindly wait for an invitation before arriving at the Community Center.
