Are you an experienced Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor looking for your next opportunity? My client an established Construction company is recruiting for a Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Commercial Manager
Location: Office-based/Hybrid
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial performance of allocated construction projects. This role involves managing valuations and applications, producing accurate cost value reconciliations (CVRs), monitoring project performance, and ensuring project margins are maintained. The successful candidate will provide commercial support to both the Commercial Director and Operations teams, ensuring robust financial reporting and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities. Enquiry Management
- Collaborate with operations management to assess work requirements and costings.
- Support the Commercial Director in business development and maintaining client relationships.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure clarity and satisfaction.
2. Financial Management
- Prepare and maintain monthly valuations/applications in line with client deadlines.
- Oversee the end-to-end process for valuations, applications, and invoicing for each project.
- Work with credit control and operations teams to resolve outstanding or disputed accounts.
3. Commercial Reporting
- Assist operations management in maximizing project value and monitor financial performance.
- Produce and maintain monthly CVRs, reconciling labour and material costs against project value.
- Manage and update the Payment Tracker to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with cloud-based software and digital recording tools is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of finance and contract management.
- Experience working with both internal teams and external clients.
- RICS-accredited degree
