A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in NW10 is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within its Additional Resource Provision (ARP) unit. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a structured and nurturing environment, while being part of a mainstream school setting.
About the School
The ARP unit supports pupils with Autism (ASC) and associated needs, including communication difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and social and emotional needs. Pupils may access both the ARP and mainstream classrooms depending on individual needs.
The Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups to meet EHCP outcomes
• Assist with communication strategies such as visual supports, Makaton, PECS, or AAC
• Help deliver structured, sensory-based, and differentiated learning activities
• Support emotional regulation, independence, and positive engagement
• Encourage inclusion within the mainstream classroom where appropriate
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and specialist staff
• Maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
About You
• Experience supporting children with SEN in Nursery or Primary settings within the UK
• Patient, compassionate, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable supporting personal care if required
• Reliable and committed to supporting vulnerable learners
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
