Walgreens – Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

• Engages customers and patients by greeting and offering assistance with products and services; resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

• Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
• Recommends items for sale and trade‑up or companion items.
• Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash, distributes change, processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges; assists customers to OTC aisle when possible.
• Maintains clean and well‑merchandised counters and shelves, performs inventory and record keeping; checks in and prices merchandise.
• Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information and ensuring correct prescription filling and verification.
• Reports prescription errors to pharmacist, adheres to Pharmacy Code of Conduct, and follows Good Faith Dispensing policy.
• Handles telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
• Processes and resubmits manual claims for third‑party prescription services; performs other clerical duties as assigned.
• Supports Pharmacy Department inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals; claims processing for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
• Ensures compliance with state and local regulations on regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
• Constructs and maintains displays, completes resets and revisions as directed.
• Assists with separation of food items, product placement, and stock rotation.
• Knows store systems and equipment.
• Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport, poster print, and promotional photo products.
• Assumes web pick‑up responsibilities and administers store maintenance and appearance.
• Maintains respectful relationships with coworkers and completes special assignments as assigned.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or required state certification.
• Attends training and completes required PPLs, maintaining ongoing education credits and knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer strong math skills for prescription accuracy, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
