The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus-based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state.

This position is available for mostly Mornings (8a - 5P). If assigned to a home temporarily, an alternate shift may be required.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions (EJFs)
- Attend work regularly and may be required to work a specific shift schedule, rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy. May serve in an on-call status on a rotating schedule as required to meet operational needs.
- Oversee daily operations and delivery of quality programs and services on the assigned home. Arrange work schedules to ensure adequate supervision/coverage based on supervision levels and direct care needs.
- Provide leadership to, and plan, assign and supervise the activities of DSPs on the home. Hire, train, coach, manage time and leave, and promote professional growth.
- Model and coach DSP IV “Charge” staff to build supervisory/leadership skills; monitor habilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, mealtime coordination, and other plans for each shift.
- Ensure care, treatment, training, and support activities are completed and documented in collaboration with other disciplines; provide guidance to staff for handling challenging behaviors.
- Maintain a physical presence on the home to ensure safe, sanitary living conditions, infection control, health care needs, risk management, and optimal quality of life; ensure reporting and documentation of unusual incidents.
- Engage staff in continuous quality improvement and identify areas for change with recommendations to the Unit Director.
- Guide and assist DSP staff to implement program procedures, policies, and laws; attend meetings and prepare required reports.
- Report to the Assistant Unit Director or Unit Director; work under limited supervision with initiative and independent judgment.
- Drive a state-owned vehicle as required.
