Responsibilities- Continuously monitor homes and grounds, watch for unusual occurrences, and address emergencies and incidents immediately.
- Document nightly issues, concerns, and incidents for administrative review.
- Serve as the contact person for abuse/neglect allegations and first responding professional staff on critical incident scenes.
- Initiate preliminary unusual incident reports and investigations.
- Evaluate incidents and recommend changes or improvements to the team and administration.
- Complete special audits and trending projects to ensure ongoing service delivery and the health and safety of residents.
- Coordinate and monitor service delivery with administrative and supervisory staff.
- Work under limited supervision using initiative and independent judgment.
- Report directly to the Incident Manager.
- Within 6 months of hire, complete Fundamentals of Investigations training.
- Work non‑traditional hours such as overnight, 10‑hour, or 12‑hour shifts when required.
- Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university; AND at least 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, responding to emergencies, conducting audits, investigating abuse, and supervising staff.
- Or high school diploma or equivalent; AND at least 6 years of experience in the same areas.
- Experience supervising others, training staff, and dealing with unusual incidents such as abuse, neglect, serious injuries, assaultive behaviors, choking incidents, fires, etc., in an ICF‑IID or other residential setting is preferred.
- Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
- Males 18‑25 must register with the Selective Service.
- All state‑supported living center employees are subject to random drug testing.
- Work hours may require flexibility, overtime, and weekend/holiday work.
