Primary PurposeThe Coordinator of Accountability & Academic Guidance provides district leadership and coordination of guidance systems as a central driver of student academic success, ensuring that advising, course placement, graduation planning, and postsecondary pathway development are strategically aligned to maximize student achievement, graduation readiness, and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) outcomes. This role supports the development of procedures, timelines, and systems that ensure consistent implementation of district counseling programs and assessment processes.
This position serves as the District Testing Coordinator (DTC) and provides leadership for accountability and monitoring. The role ensures compliance with state and federal testing requirements, safeguards the integrity of accountability and assessment data, and aligns counseling, accountability, and student readiness systems to improve graduation rates, CCMR attainment, and overall district performance.
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Education Administration, or other closely related field.
- Valid Texas School Counselor or Principal Certification.
- Knowledge of Texas graduation requirements, CCMR indicators, and accountability systems.
Minimum three years of experience in counseling, program coordination, or student services leadership preferred.
Major Responsibilities Counseling Systems Leadership- Provide district-level leadership and oversight of the comprehensive counseling program to ensure consistent, high-quality implementation of counseling services across all campuses aligned with district goals and student success outcomes.
- Support counseling staff through training, guidance, and ongoing coaching to ensure consistent and effective practices aligned with district priorities.
- Assist with development and implementation of counseling procedures, timelines, and systems that support students.
- Support coordination of student mental health and social-emotional support systems as they relate to academic persistence and student success.
- Collaborate with campus counselors and administrators to ensure alignment of student course placement, endorsements, graduation plans, and CCMR indicators.
- Serve as the official District Testing Coordinator responsible for coordinating, and overseeing all state assessment programs, including STAAR, TELPAS, TSIA, SAT School Day, ACT School Day, and other required assessments.
- Develop and maintain the district assessment calendar, ensuring alignment with TEA timelines and district instructional priorities.
- Train and support campus testing coordinators on test administration procedures, security protocols, accommodations, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure strict adherence to TEA testing procedures, security requirements, and testing integrity standards.
- Coordinate ordering, distribution, collection, and secure handling of testing materials.
- Monitor testing implementation across campuses and resolve testing irregularities and compliance issues.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the district and TEA regarding assessment administration.
- Maintain all testing documentation required for compliance, monitoring, and audit purposes.
- Support data validation, verification, and reporting of assessment results.
- Monitor district CCMR indicators including graduation rates, college readiness assessments, industry certifications, and postsecondary readiness measures.
- Analyze and track student data related to graduation requirements, credit accrual, course completion, and CCMR indicators.
- Collaborate with accountability and data staff to ensure accurate reporting and tracking of student performance indicators.
- Support campuses in identifying students at risk of not meeting graduation or CCMR requirements and assist with intervention planning.
- Assist in preparation of district accountability reports and provide updates to district leadership on student performance trends.
- Support implementation and coordination of dual credit, advanced academic programs, career and technical education pathways, and college readiness initiatives.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with higher education institutions, workforce partners, and community organizations to expand student opportunities.
- Support coordination of CCMR initiatives including college readiness testing, career pathway planning, and postsecondary readiness programs.
