Duties Summary :
The purpose of this position is to serve as a course director and instructor for the training management functional courses in an AETC Technical Training, Faculty Development Flight responsible for the development, implementation, and management of training concepts, programs, and procedures to meet instructional requirements. Duties :
1. Directs the development of instructional programs (i.e., formal training in initial skills, advanced, supplemental, distance learning, and field training courses) for active duty Air Force personnel, ANG, AFRC, other U.S. military service active duty and reserve personnel, DoD civilians, other U.S. government agencies, and foreign military students. Initiates and oversees instructional projects and assignments for a multitude of subject-matter fields, cluster of.
2. Manages total training requirements to maintain operational manning requirements for multiple specialties or assigned career fields.
3. Prepares, documents, and reviews the technical and economic data to support acquisition of complex, multifunctional instructional systems equipment and services.
4. Manages all programming actions associated with the assigned courses.
5. Accomplishes special project. Develops and implements special projects designed to resolve issues, improve trainings, respond to specific tasking, answer internal and external inquiries, or correct deficiencies. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Limited Area of Consideration - AF Internal Employee at Air Education and Training Command Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions Group Standard, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1750, Instructional Systems Series.
* Basic Requirement for GS-1750-12 INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST: A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must include study in at least four of the following five areas: (1) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology; (2) Instructional design practices (3) Educational evaluation (4) Instructional product OR (5) Computers in education and training.
Some positions in this series may specialize in one or two functional areas, where more specific academic preparation may be necessary. For such positions, agencies may require course work in the applicable functional area(s) as part of the above-required 24 semester hours. Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience for GS-1750-12 which includes knowledge of a wide range of professional concepts, principles, methods, techniques, and practices of one or more specialties of the instructional systems field as well as of learning theory, gained through extended study, experience, and maintained currency with developing trends in the field of learning. Comprehensive knowledge of a wide variety of instructional development methods sufficient to conduct analysis to determine the requirements for revision of existing instructional systems or development of new training programs.
Comprehensive knowledge of an extensive variety of instructional program planning methods and techniques sufficient to plan total support, i.e., personnel, equipment, facilities, budget, and other resource requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-11 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service.
