Navy Exchange Bremerton is in need of a Warehouse Worker to answer the call; a team player who is dedicated to supporting our local Naval community, and operational successes on a day to day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks which involve the receiving, storing, and stocking within the warehouse backroom for the Navy Exchange Bremerton. Your work will make an impact and support how our organization serves the best customer – our Military patrons and their families.

So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

• Receives and unloads incoming merchandise deliveries.
• Pulls merchandise in accordance with established procedures for shipment, transfers, or customer orders as applicable.
• Operates motor vehicle and forklift in performance of daily duties.

• Must possess a valid state driver’s license or a valid commercial driver’s license CDL
• Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely.
• Must be able to pass appropriate background checks needed for the specific area of responsibility (e.g. Federal DOD Security Clearance, etc.)
• Pass the GSA defensive driving course.

Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Is required to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance and carry short distances; heavier material will be transported by forklift equipment.

Work is performed indoors and outdoors. The area may be cold, drafty, damp or hot. Is exposed to the possibility of injury such as exposure to cuts, bruises, lacerations from falling or dropping stock from handling materials and from mechanical equipment.

Associate must receive Hazardous Material Haz Mat training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.

One year of experience performing warehousing related duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, shipping operation of manual material movement equipment etc. or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.

One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.

One year of warehousing experience including work that demonstrated the ability to prepare material receiving and transfer documentation, provide direction to lower graded warehouse workers and ability to operate a forklift.
