We are seeking Galley Route Supervisors for our Washington State Ferries on the following locations:
Bremerton, WA

Washington State Ferries operates the largest ferry system in the United States. Twenty-two ferries cross Puget Sound and its inland waterways, carrying more than 22 million passengers to 20 different ports of call. From Tacoma, Washington, to Sidney, British Columbia, we travel up and down the Sound, acting as a marine highway for commercial users, tourists, and daily commuters alike. The fleet is a major tourist attraction and icon of Washington state.

Function

The Galley Route Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that guests receive an exceptional level of service by supervising galley crew member staff and supporting the Quick Serve food and beverage operations at all points of sale. They will monitor the projected and current manning and product inventory to ensure adequate staffing and supplies are on hand to support projected customer levels. Route Supervisor will also monitor Galley Crew members as they provide a variety of pre-made or fresh-to-order snacks, beverages and entre items from Sodexo Live!'s

Quick Serve menu. Their top priority will be to ensure that the highest levels of customer service, cleanliness, and sanitation are maintained.

The Galley Route Supervisor will circulate throughout designated ferries within assigned routes to monitor service within the galleys, mobile stands, permanent stand fixtures or cafes/bistros. They are responsible for ensuring that alcohol is being served responsibly throughout their assigned locations and for ensuring that Sodexo Live! standards for handing monetary transactions are consistently in place.

The Galley Route Supervisor will also be required to work as part of the galley crew to support shortfalls in personnel on their routes.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Enforce Sodexo Live!'s-Washington State Ferries standards of conduct, uniform & grooming standards, and established procedures within assigned routes and vessels
  • Ensure that galley workers adhere to Sodexo Live! policies for processing customer sales transactions and cash handling procedures
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are maintained
  • Assist the management team in the training and onboarding of new employees
  • Maintain communication with the management team to fix operational issues within assigned routes
  • Complete necessary paperwork to document product that is received and/or distributed; accurately input amounts and items received/distributed and ensure accuracy in transmitting documentation to the Sodexo Live!-WSF offices
  • Monitor and certify the hours worked for all Concessions Crew members within assigned routes; oversee employees' schedules to ensure adequate manning
Qualifications/Skills

Required:

  • Must possess or be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), WA Food Handlers Card & Class 12 MAST Card to work aboard the Washington State Ferries
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)
  • High school diploma or equivalent. College degree desired, but combination of education and work experience to support on-the-job effectiveness will be considered
