Position: RIGGING WORKER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will be performing underwater ships husbandry on waterborne Navy vessels.
* You will use decompression tables, open-circuit scuba and surface supplied dive equipment.
* You will install and remove cofferdams, blanks, anchors, anchor chain, cleaning and inspecting propellers, moving large heavy items underwater using cranes and rigging gear.
* You will be repairing and replacing various ships components.
* You will perform salvage diving to retrieve items from the water using various methods like lift bags, cranes, davits, and etc.
* You will perform preventive maintenance in accordance with Navy 3M program.
* You will operate dive boats, hydraulic systems and all diver support equipment. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to maintain a current U.S. Navy Second Class Diver or above certification.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* This is a bargaining unit position.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* You may be required to work in poorly lit enclosed spaces, both below and above the water line.
* You may be required to work in poor visibility, and on slippery or uneven work surfaces.
* You may be required to lifting weights of up to 100 pounds.
* You may be required to work in confined areas.
* You may be required climb on platforms or other structures and work at excessive heights.
* You may dive in cold water, contaminated water, chemical containments, and sewer or industrial outfall. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
