Position: INSTRUMENT WORKER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will assist in the performance of installation, repair, overhaul, modification, troubleshooting, adjustment, testing, and calibration of various types of sensing, measuring, computing, and analyzing instruments and equipment.
* You will perform work on instruments and equipment in communications, radar, sonar, electronic countermeasures, naval tactical data, nuclear instrumentation, and physical measurements that combine both mechanical and electrical principles.
* You will interpret and apply drawings, sketches, schematic wiring diagrams, manufactures' plans, and/or engineering blueprints to diagnosis equipment malfunctions.
* You will repair and/or replace defective wiring, connections, and components (such as resistors, transistors, springs, levers, jewels, and pointers) and perform final operational tests and calibration.
* You will trace sources of trouble and identify defects by following signal flow through sub-assemblies and components. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
* This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination. I am able to distinguish between colors and shades of colors.
* This position requires that the selectee willing and able to work in small and/or confined spaces.
* This position requires that the selectee be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding
* This position requires that the selectee willing and able to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 60 pounds in weight. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
