Position: MAINTENANCE WORKER LEADER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will lead three (3) or more workers and provide improved oversight, training, and leadership to work groups and ensure that deck plate production work is prepared for, executed, and reviewed with adequate level of leadership.
* You will assist the supervisor by passing along instructions to other workers on the crew and apply knowledge of the latest work processes and procedures and assure that they are followed by others on the crew.
* You will ensure that work permits, system tag outs, work instructions, drawings, material, and special tooling are on the job site when needed.
* You will resolve problems, accomplish routine inspection of work in progress, and audit completed work for compliance with appropriate work procedures.
* You will determine progress and status of work, estimate completion of work, and inform immediate supervisor.
* You will ensure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed, coordinate the work of co-workers and assist trades to assure that event schedules are met. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

* This is a bargaining unit position.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
* Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* This position may require a tetanus vaccine to work with sewage collection, holding, and transfer.
* You will need to be able to lift or carry loads up to 60 pounds in weight.
* You will be required to work onboard ships.
* You will be required to work in small and/or confined spaces.
* You will need to be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
* You will need to have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
