Hiring Range: $20.07 - $24.58 Per Hour

Join our Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) team as a Behavioral Health Technician for our Adult Inpatient Unit (AIU). As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our adult clients while supporting their treatment objectives. Primary

Responsibilities
  • Monitor client behaviors and activities to ensure their safety within the AIU.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment per unit protocols.
  • Implement treatment plans under the guidance of the treatment team.
  • Accurately document client interactions and observations using electronic and paper charting systems.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to provide comprehensive care to clients.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary.
  • Facilitate group activities and therapeutic sessions to promote recovery.
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders to coordinate client care.
  • Support clients in developing coping skills and self-management techniques.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions.
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures at all times.
Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

1 year (customer service, social services, or behavioral health)

Valid Washington Food Handler card. (Can be obtained after hire)

Licensure:
Eligible for an Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Capacity to work well with children and families.

Performance Requirements
  • Knowledge:
    Maintain a working knowledge and skill in verbal de‑escalation skills as outlined in MPAC/CPI trainings and other agency‑mandated trainings.
