Position Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt, Monday to Friday
Direct Supervisor: WIC Manager
Work Environment: In person, office setting. Some travel to other sites may be required.

Job Summary
This position supervises WIC staff at assigned site locations. This position is responsible for staff and class schedules, formulating evaluation input, performing nutritional evaluation and counseling for clients in a community health setting. Must be able to communicate with a diverse population, be patient and creative in finding nutritional solutions to nutrition and health challenges.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Required

Education:

AA degree

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field

Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus

2 years of supervisory experience

2 years of experience counseling clients in nutrition

Ability to pass State and/or Federal Background Checks as determined by position (prior to hire date)

Preferred Qualifications:

Must demonstrate recognition and compassion for low-income peoples.

Must be aware and sensitive to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Must have supervisory experience

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good public relations, communication and educational skills needed.

Requires knowledge of local resources which benefit the economically disadvantaged.

Ability to work under pressure and time constraints

License(s) and/or

Certifications:

Valid Washington State Driver’s License (to operate company vehicles and/or utilize other vehicles for company business)

Ability to obtain proof of insurability for operating an automobile. (to operate company vehicles and/or utilize other vehicles for company business)

Certifications:

obtain WA state WIC certifier status via on the job training

Essential Physical and Mental Functions

Requires walking, reaching/stretching, intermittent sitting, twisting, and bending

Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds

Good judgment, and the ability to remain calm and effectively communicate appropriate advice, guidance, information and training

Cognitive ability to recognize and address safety concerns

Cognitive ability to discern accuracy and apply to work as necessary.
