The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical and administrative oversight, support, and consultation to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team’s (MCOT) Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs), Mental Health Professionals (MHPs), Mental Health Care Providers (MHCPs), Substance Use Disorder Professionals (SUDPs) and Certified Peer Counselors (CPCs) via direct clinical and supervisory work.
The MCOT Clinical Supervisor promotes prompt and focused expert response to those in crisis in a compassionate and efficient manner in keeping with State and Salish BHASO mandated crisis services. MCOT provides rapid mobile crisis resolutions with emphasis on the goal of stabilizing the crisis in the least restrictive appropriate manner, as well as facilitating access to behavioral health and substance use disorder services.
The MCOT Clinical Supervisor improves the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission and provides the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMCOT DCRs, MHPs, MHCPs, SUDPs and CPCs.
Major Responsibilities/Tasks- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the principles of crisis intervention that focus on rapid resolution of a crisis to prevent further deterioration, to achieve a pre-crisis level of functioning, to promote growth & effective problem solving, and to recognize danger signs to prevent negative outcomes.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Washington State statutes and regulatory codes that govern and direct the responsibilities of members of the MCOT, including Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) laws. Keep abreast of changes to the statutes, regulatory codes, and/or contract requirements on an ongoing basis and ensure that members of MCOT are apprised of and trained to understand and apply changes appropriately in the carrying out of their responsibilities.
